DIEGO CANO of Antioquian origin and with an outstanding artistic career in the field of Colombian art, graduated from the National University in plastic arts, and connoisseur of the vast majority of artistic currents, on this occasion he recreates us with his large-format proposals in the constant search immersed in the painting itself, palpable, and that must be covered through the material representative gesture and executed from the human against the digital. In his artistic evolution he goes from the recursive with the materials to the expressive loaded with matter, breaking down the plane between figuration and abstraction, important tools to narrate in the constant search for his BEING. If talking about matter in art is to highlight a series of materials with which an artist recreates his memory through pigments, including fluids, it is to recognize the qualities in the material to achieve the determining language of the work in this reflection. Delving into the relationship and way of using materials is directly linked to the sense of the artist and his expression, where the method and techniques are definitive, everything responds to a logic within the evolution of a language that develops an expression, manipulation, the interaction with the environment and the reactions generated by the materials encourage us to discover that perceptions and sensations are part of this artistic proposal.


Diego Cano's experience with his work leads us to wonder how the material used determines the experience and the language, we forget as spectators the technical complexity and creativity that are necessary for all materials to respond to the human will The artist he lets the need for expression flow freely, so in this way the ideas, his studies, the constant training, the cultural and philosophical are the basis of his artistic fact. Facing his creative process is combining narrations of social stories, brushstrokes and brush strokes, color ranges that contrast with a consolidated language in the present but not in the near future, given the conditions of his new search hand in hand with a consistent technical development. with a critical content as constant in his work.


The basis of his artistic work is the dialogue with his soul, with his inspiration from an intuition that defines it in the treatment of matter. The archetypes in his work are contextualized in what he tells, something that worries him, represented in his pictorial themes, he does not fall into dramas, but into symbols that address the viewer from an expressionism linked to his life in the mood. The creation process provokes a catharsis releasing the tensions juxtaposing the materials and gestures in the line that speaks of an explosive existential experience, shaking the canvas from its relationship with the everyday, the invisible realities of purification and restless mental states, the atmosphere of His paintings is enigmatic, because the foundation is the representation of human emotions, he tries to find the origin of his drives where nothing is still but communicates its context, it is always a concern reflected in the color he uses, his technique is forceful, impacts, what is amazing is the state of your BEING, its power vibrates with matter, it is fast representing a fleeting state beyond material connections, the disinhibition that reveals an archetype influences, a revealing but enigmatic state of anxiety in line and contrast with textures and spaces, continually searching for himself, in the experimental to deliberately break the balance, expressing sensations of chaos and tension.
